After reading Rachel's blog, I think I should also update something about the attachment in Global Entrepolis @ Singapore
Only went to work on the first 2 days for the Opening Ceremony and Gala Dinner. Is there any pay? YES! Of course!

Around $2/hr lol!

Experience gained:
- Event disorganised - I agreed with Rachel
- No specific timing or clear instructions given
-I didn't see what i have learnt in various module being applied to the event itself
- Event lack of: providing f&B for guests before event starts, creating suitable ambience and leaving a total customer experience for the guests, various staff clear of their roles and responsibilities, time scheduling, clear programme lineout.

First day Opening Ceremony (Mon 12/11)
Job: Gate KeeperDuration: 3pm - 9pm

It was the 1st highlight event for GES.

PM Lee was the G-O-H for the event.

Ceremony was supposed to commerce at 7pm

But Guests was invited to enter the reception area at 5pm

Poor Guests, they have to wait like 1 & half hr before the door for the ballrooms are open.

Waited, waited & waited until 6.30pm

NO drinks or light refreshments were provided.

NO seating area, they are expected to stand and socialize around with others.

How would you feel if you were the guests?

Many guests were commenting that they should provide at least some drinks before the event since they have to wait for so long.
There was a guest who came up to Rachel and said, "This is the worst organised event that i have attended!" off that guest went *Quoted from Chel’s Blog*

Actually I agreed with the guests, if I were one of them I would feel so irritated and frustrated that I have to spend my precious 1 & half hour standing around and no food and drinks were even served to me.

Plus: Instruction provided was not clear resulting in confusion happening. We was wondering whether we should just open the door and let the guest exit the ballroom or refuse to open the doors and make the guests wait and getting more irritated by us.

Luckily, the day was ended with a nice dinner with my beloved friends to celebrate Ling’s birthday!

Second Day Gala Dinner (Tue 13/11)
Job: Seating Coordinator
Duration: 3pm – 8pm

2nd highlight event for GES
Can you imagine the dinner is held in a exhibition hall with cemented flooring and just a red carpet for the GOH to walk on?
No ambience, No mood, Not much decoration, does not look like a dinner that is organised specially for overseas delegates, visitors, exhibitors, VIPs.
Everything we have learnt about creating ambience, decoration, and mood was not applied.

Some incident happens…
One of the student knocked into a guest, spilled drink on him…
Can see that the guest was quite fed up…

Lastly,
What I have learnt?

Learn from their mistakes.
Never make the same mistake.

I am back!

After without blogging for one month time.

Dunno what am i busy with recently.

But i am very very tired.

31st Oct was HALLOWEEN!

31st was also sis birthday!

Happy 13th birthday!

So this week was the DIEM week in school

cos everyone in RP is having holiday

except

for us DIEM students.

As usual, we need to go back for lesson.

But it was fun,

Cos we can have the whole canteen as our own.

No more queues!

How i which everyday was the same!

Next week,

I am gonna to have attachement at the GES Event

Global Entrepolis @ Singapore

Need to travel to Suntec City...

Hope it will be fun!

Finally PP approved!

But still we need to do a presentation for it...

Poster needed!

Have to start thinking of how to start on it

I want to go out and play!

It has been a long time since i last went out and have fun!

I want to go Kbox,

go shopping

go chalet

go... ... ...

Okay, that's all!

All work, No Play = No Life

I know i am so boring!
